NATIONAL PARK SERVICE AND FORD'S THEATRE SOCIETY ANNOUNCE CHANGE IN LINCOLN COAT DISPLAY

Washington, D.C.—The National Park Service and Ford’s Theatre Society announced that Abraham Lincoln’s wool overcoat, currently on display in the Ford’s Theatre lobby, will be replaced by its replica on November 12, 2009.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Ford’s Theatre 2009-2010 season opens with Black Pearl Sings! by Frank Higgins, September 25-October 18, 2009.

FORD’S THEATRE SOCIETY ANNOUNCES OPEN CHILDREN AUDITIONS FOR A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Children Ages Five to 13 Encouraged to Attend

Washington, D.C. – The Ford’s Theatre Society announced that auditions for children’s roles in the company’s production of A Christmas Carol will be held Saturday, September 19, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Church of the Epiphany (1317 G Street NW, Washington, D.C.). Interested children between the ages of five and 13 are encouraged to sign up for a timeslot on-site beginning at 9:30 a.m. Children should prepare a Christmas song and short poem or story and bring with them a photo and résumé.

Ford’s Theatre, Museum And Petersen House Closure September 22 And 23

Washington, D.C.—The National Park Service (NPS) and the Ford’s Theatre Society announced Ford’s Theatre National Historic Site, located at 511 10th Street, NW, and the Petersen House (the House where President Abraham Lincoln died) will close to the public for facility maintenance on September 22 and 23. The Ford’s Theatre National Historic Site and Petersen House will reopen to the public for timed entry visits on September 24.

During this closure, visitors may visit www.nps.gov/foth and www.fords.org in order to learn about and experience Ford’s Theatre.

Paul Tetreault Announces the Ford’s Theatre 2009-2010 Season

Washington, D.C. – Ford’s Theatre Society Director Paul Tetreault announced the Society’s 2009-2010 season, a lineup that includes Black Pearl Sings!, a new production of A Christmas Carol, Norman Corwin’s The Rivalry, originally read as part of the Living Lincoln series, and the musical Little Shop of Horrors. In addition to the mainstage season, the Society will present political comedian Mark Russell from February 17 to 20, 2010.
