The Lincoln-Herndon Society

Before history thrust him to the forefront of one of the most tumultuous times in the life of our nation, Abraham Lincoln was a circuit lawyer, providing basic legal services to residents of Illinois.  The Lincoln-Herndon Society at Ford’s Theatre is named for the law firm where Lincoln was the principal attorney, and is comprised of members from the regional legal community who wish to acknowledge and recognize this important part of Lincoln’s life.

Individual membership benefits in the Lincoln-Herndon Society are parallel to the benefits offered at the corresponding Friends of Ford’s Theatre and John T. Ford Society membership programs, with two additions – please see below:

  • $250 – Associate – would include all the benefits of the $250 Contributor level membership, plus one additional event and separate recognition in performance programs and on the Ford’s Theatre website.
  • $1,000 – Counsel – would include all the benefits of the $1,000 Sustainer level John T. Ford Society membership, plus one additional event and separate recognition in performance programs and on the Ford’s Theatre website
  • $5,000 – Partner – would include all the benefits of the $5,000 level John T. Ford Society membership, plus one additional event and separate recognition in performance programs and on the Ford’s Theatre website

Membership at these levels will also be made available to law firms.  Those firms wishing to participate in this fashion will be recognized publicly under the name of the firm, but two individuals within the firm may be designated to receive the other benefits of membership such as invitations to special events, etc.
